Bacon Wrapped Chicken Livers

  • Easy

This easy appetizer is so tasty, and the perfect dish to consider if you’re cooking for meat lovers.

You will need bacon and chicken livers, along with raw honey for dipping and perhaps some cilantro to add color to the dish.

When’s the last time you had chicken livers? If you’re like most people, it is probably quite a while ago!

This makes a nice appetizer for 4 people.

If you want to serve it with vegetables as an entrée it will serve 2 people.

Why not add some water chestnuts for crunch or swap the honey for chili sauce to make it unique?

The honey is also good for dipping, adding a nice natural sweetness to the overall flavor. Honey comes in different varieties and qualities, so choose organic raw honey if you can.

Chicken livers are perhaps one of the least used parts of the bird, since many of us just grab the breasts, thighs or drumsticks, but they are nutritious, flavorful and versatile.

Chicken livers are also the right size to wrap in bacon.

We are broiling these appetizers and they will only take about 7 minutes to cook on each side.

You can see when they are done because the bacon will be nice and crisp.

Cut each bacon slice in half then wrap around the chicken livers, using toothpicks to secure.

Broil until the bacon has crisped up on one side then flip and cook the other side until crisp. This should take about 7 minutes per side.

Serve with honey for dipping and sprinkle with cilantro if liked.
